Trubient's founder has worked in the fund industry for 25 years. The company was founded by people who saw at first hand how much time fund professionals spend collecting data, a task that software can perform for them.
2022
The founder's career in the Luxembourg fund industry had covered building operations and managing compliance while regulation developed. As the SFDR requirements took effect, he observed that asset managers were building internal processes to collect sustainability data manually. They paid data vendors and expensive analysts to gather the data and consolidate it in spreadsheets. Every asset manager repeated the same work for every asset and for every reporting period.
2023
Following extensive analysis and a market survey, the team defined a proprietary framework that is flexible, can be customised and meets the requirements of a range of standards and regulations. The team decided to build a platform that extracts data directly from source documents in place of purchasing it from data vendors, so that clients can carry out all of their oversight and compliance work in a single platform. The platform was designed as a software-as-a-service solution that clients control fully and customise to their specific needs, supported by a team of experts.
In the same year, a partnership was formed with IQZ Systems, a Google Cloud partner. IQZ Systems has more than 140 specialists with extensive experience in building intelligent automation for enterprise clients.
2024
Together with IQZ Systems, the team combined its regulatory expertise with large language models and a multi-agent approach. The objective was to build an AI that reads sustainability documents as a senior analyst would, with greater speed and consistency and with complete documentation of its reasoning.
2025
The multi-agent architecture was deployed and asset managers began to use the platform. The results confirmed the founder's original assessment. Data extraction was 96× faster, and every data point carried complete source attribution. The audit trails met the requirements of auditors. The platform is a unique end-to-end solution that no other provider offers.
2026
The product was originally called ESGWize. In 2026 it was renamed Trubient to reflect its role as a trusted source of intelligence for sustainable investment decisions. The name combines the words “true” and “ambient” and refers to accurate data that surrounds and informs every investment decision.
Trubient holds that sustainability matters to every organisation. The platform is designed to be accessible to organisations of any size and to adapt as regulation changes. A sustainable future should be within reach of every organisation, wherever it is based.
Trubient provides the data infrastructure and does not sell ratings or opinions. Clients apply their own investment philosophy to the data, including their own materiality weightings and scoring rules. The conclusions drawn from the data belong to the client.
Every output from Trubient can be traced to its source. Building this traceability requires additional engineering effort. Trubient regards it as essential, since regulated financial institutions can only trust data that they are able to verify.
When the AI cannot find explicit data, it reports that the data is missing. It explains what it searched for and why the information is not available. A clear statement that data is missing is more useful than an estimate that appears precise and later creates compliance risk.
